The fifth and final draft of the cover illustration for the Summer 2024 issue of USC Viterbi Magazine
USC Viterbi Magazine, summer 2024 digital

Holy wow, this was a job of work.

I did this wrap-around cover for the summer 2024 issue of USC Viterbi Magazine, and it required a lot of likenesses. Over 100, actually. The initial brief was for 40. After I signed-on to do the job, it became a wraparound cover with 80 likenesses. And then... the order came down to scrap most of the likenesses in the first version of the cover and do 30 new ones!

It was a big job, and had five rounds of revisions, but it did end-up being sort-of fun in the end. James Kim was the AD on this, and he's super easy to work with, so that helps a lot.

Here's the first version of the cover. Lots of faculty and donors to the school, and a different framing for the background. Most of the students stayed for the final version, and some key faculty members, while most of the rest got the ax!
