A montage illustration of people playing golf, featuring a racing golf-cart in the centre and an alpaca caddy in the upper-right.
GOLF Ink, watercolor, gouache on paper

I don't play golf. I have zero interest in golf. And that's precisely why I decided to do a retro-style montage illustration of golf: to do something I don't normally do.

Of course I had to make it interesting/funny for myself, so I got the alpaca caddie in there, and the racing cart – and the guy throwing his club.

Technique-wise, this was a semi-serious attempt at using traditional media in a style of illustration that was popular when I was very little – the kind of stuff you saw all the time on Atari box art – Cliff Spohn, Terry Hoff, Warren Chang, D. Smith, ...they were all great at it. I still suck at it, but I'll keep pokin' away!
