These are some sample pieces for a middle-grade illustration portfolio that I'm working on. I was sketching various child/adolescent characters one afternoon last year and one of them was a sort-of Young John Constantine character, which I liked. I drew the first image, thought it might be an interesting thing to keep exploring, then added the other two characters to make a sort-of middle-school monster hunting squad.
The story here? I don't know, but something about a horned king whose horn was actually "borrowed" from an immortal elk who would like it back...?
I should mention that this was also intended as a sort-of test drive of SKRIBBLOR, the drawing app that I wrote earlier in the year.
